A leading cell and gene therapy Biotech are seeking a leading Vice President of Business Development who is able to lead business expansion efforts, forge key partnerships, and spearhead market access strategies.
The position is an opportunity for a Senior Director to step into a senior position or for an experience VP from a Multi-National Pharmaceutical organisation looking to move in to a Biotech and has a proven track record of success in business development within the life sciences sector and a passion for advancing ground-breaking therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
Have deep industry knowledge, exceptional negotiating skills, and relationship-building expertise to identify and secure collaborations that accelerate the development and commercialization of transformative therapies.
Develop and run a business development strategy focused on identifying and securing high-value partnerships.
Execute licensing strategy to in-license or out-license assets that complement or support the portfolio.
Lead for co-development partnerships
Lead negotiations for strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and maximizing shareholder value.
Manage and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers at potential partner companies.
Conduct thorough deal due diligence and lead the integration process for successful partnerships.
Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Reporting to CEO and other Executives highlighting key metrics and overall business performance.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors/ Masters or above within a life sciences or related degree i.e. biochemistry.
Prior exposure working within a biotech/ pharmaceutical industry. You may also have experience from a Consulting/ VC background
Experience from a financial/ consulting organisation would be a benefit.
Minimum 7 years of experience within a Business Development focus position
A proven track record of success in business development and strategic partnerships.
Strong understanding of deal structuring, negotiation strategies, and risk management principles.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
